Intervention on Indigenous Piece
Title: Origen en expansión
Materials: Indigenous handwoven textile, natural pigments, leaf
Caracas, Miami.
An intervention on a handwoven Indigenous textile using natural pigments and a central depigmented leaf structure. On the front, the leaf becomes a point of origin, while natural pigments reveal and extend the textile’s original pattern, bringing its underlying structure and symbolic meaning into focus. The intervention explores the relationship between what is visible and what lies beneath, tracing the continuity between nature, material, memory and cultural identity.
On the reverse, a painting depicts what the textile conceals and simultaneously gives form to, creating a dialogue between surface and interior, covering and revealing, origin and transformation.
Spatial intervention
That interstice between what is real, what is essential, and what had been diverted from its course. A search for a deeper reality, where what was imposed and what came from within would have to coexist until they found a new way of inhabiting one another.
